Penguins, rivers,

mountains, and oceans

Mlambo, a name deeply rooted in heritage, translates to 'river' and refers to the water people, of the Gariep, a river with profound significance. Originating from the Lesotho mountains as the Senqu, this river courses its way into the South Atlantic, touching the western coasts of Southern Africa , home to the African penguins—creatures that for millennia have bred, fed, and played along its shores. This enduring bond between the river and the penguin influences our brand logo and the unique design of our signature skirt echoing the penguin's silhouette.

Mlambo is proudly an ambassador brand to the National Oceanographic Center UK.
